INSIDE TRACK: Fall Talladega Preview

Posted: Updated:
Talladega, Al -

Three races down, seven to go in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.  Brad Keselowski served notice to the rest of the Chase field that he was going to be a force to be reckoned with.  Keselowski took his second win in three races last weekend at Dover International Speedway.

"Bad Brad" feels Talladega is a good track for him, but anything can happen.

Five-time champion, Jimmie Johnson says that at Talladega, a driver has to be prepared for just about anything.

Johnson's teammate Dale Earnhardt, Jr. feels that no one is safe from the "big one" at Talladega.

Talladega is a 2.66 mile asphalt tri-oval, with 33 degrees of banking in turns one and two, just over 32 degrees in turns 3 and 4.  The tri-oval has 16.5, with the back straight having only three degrees of banking.

Since the construction of the track, many strange happenings and untimely deaths have fueled the rumors of a curse. In 1973, Bobby Isaac left his car during the race on lap 90 because of voices he claimed to have heard which told him to park his car and get out.
