Badia Injured, Big Reds Fall at Cuyahoga Heights

The Bellaire Big Reds traveled to Cleveland and lost to Cuyahoga Heights 42-14 in the opening round of the Ohio Division V Region 17 Quarterfinals.

Bellaire junior quarterback Spencer Badia was injured early in the game, but only missed a few series. He came back and played the rest of the game while noticeably limping. Badia finished the game with 265 yards passing, putting him a yard over 3,000 for the season. Junior receiver Nick Patrone had 134 yards receiving and finished his season with 1,009 yards through the air.  Bellaire's Nick Maffe scored twice on a pair of one-yard runs.

The Big Reds were back in the post-season for the first time since 2006, and finished the season at 8-3.
