St.Clairsville senior Dan Monteroso made a made dash to the bucket, with a little less than four seconds left, and beat the overtime buzzer with a layup that touched off an incredible celebration in St.Clairsville's improbable 58-56 victory over Cambridge at Jenkins Court in St.Clairsville.
Monteroso scored 31 points, and the Devils never led until the final buzzer. Senior point guard Riley Carlton was the only other Red Devil in double figures with 14 points.
Cambridge star Kyle Ritz fouled out after scoring 16 points. Ben Staniford led the Bobcats with 17 points.
St.Clairsville started slowly, and trailed 12-2 after one quarter, and 26-15 at half. The Devils clawed back from a 15-point deficit to tied the game at 50-50 with 1:23 left in the fourth quarter. Monteroso actually had a shot at the fourth-quarter buzzer to win the game, but his shot was no good.
