A number of activists from the group V-Day Akron joined several others in a flash mob protest Thursday outside the Jefferson County Courthouse in Steubenville, Ohio.
According to activists at the scene, the event was held in support of Jane Doe, a teenage girl who was allegedly raped in Steubenville back in August. The case has gained national attention and was the subject of a least three other protests since late December.
More than 30 people performed a dance and several speakers talked on behalf of the alleged victim.
"It's really important to have peoples support and be there even if they are not someone you know," said Deb Lemire of V-Day Akron. "Even if it is just a community saying lets hold this up so you can survive what is happening."
The group has raised more than $90 million in funds for education, safe houses and other events.
