It's been 10 months since West Virginia banned texting or talking on a hand-held phone while driving. Since then, 125 people have been convicted of breaking that law.
Drivers caught texting while behind the wheel face fines of $100 for a first offense, $200 for a second violation and $300 for subsequent offenses.
Using a handheld cellphone to talk becomes a primary offense on July 1.
