Two Belmont County Ohio Department of Transportation workers took home awards Wednesday after winning District 11's annual Truck and Loader ‘Roadeo' competition.

ODOT holds the truck driving and loader competitions to test the skills of employees involved in snow and ice.

Belmont County worker Joshua Luyster, of Belmont, Ohio, won the truck competition. The course included a pre-trip inspection, a serpentine or figure 8, an alley dock, a narrow lane, offset lanes, and a stop line.

Curtis Grant, of Centerville, Ohio, won the loader competition. The  competition required participants to display both forward and backward operations as well as pick up and carry objects, such as pipe, and maneuver through very tight places, putting objects in very specific locations.

Luyster and Grant will represent eastern Ohio by competing in a state competition to be held September 11 at the state fairgrounds in Columbus.
