I had the chance to go to Oceana over the weekend to talk to residents there about the documentary film Oxyana – a movie that depicts the Wyoming County community as a place ravaged by prescription drug abuse.
While there is no sugar-coating the addiction problem there or anywhere else in
West Virginia, what I found were
good, decent people forced to contend with a tragic lack of opportunity.
Our elected leaders seem to know what we're up against in this life or death battle and they've tried to address it, but nothing will go further or do more good than unleashing prosperity and giving our citizens a real shot at the American Dream.
