Bellaire's Missy Tiber Named Head Coach at North Alabama

Former West Liberty women's basketball standout Missy Tiber was introduced Tuesday as the new head coach at the University of North Alabama.

A native of Bellaire, Ohio, Tiber began her collegiate coaching career in 1994 as an assistant to current WLU head man Lynn Ullom after wrapping up a stellar playing career with the Hilltoppers.
During her six seasons as a West Liberty assistant, Tiber helped guide the Black and Gold to three West Virginia Conference titles, four WVIAC Tournament championships and four NCAA Division II Tournament berths.
Tiber, who comes to UNA following a four-year stint at NCAA Division I Southern Illinois University, has compiled a 186-156 (.544) record in 12 seasons as a collegiate head coach. She was a combined 167-70 (.705) in eight combined seasons at NCAA Division II Belmont Abbey (N.C.) and Tusculum (Tenn.).
Tiber replaces former North Alabama coach Terry Fowler, who was recently hired as head coach at NCAA Division I South Alabama. Fowler was 115-97 (.542) with a pair of NCAA Division II Tournament bids during his seven years at UNA.
