The West Virginia Land and Mineral Owners Association selected officers for the upcoming year during its annual meeting at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels.
Officers are Jeffrey Allen, Pardee Resources, president; Gary Stover, Penn Virginia Resources, vice president; Torrey Evans, Dingess-Rum Properties, secretary; Tricia Clark, Suttle & Stalnaker CPAs, treasurer; and Howard Persinger, Jr., Mingo Oil & Gas, past president.
Attendees at the meeting came from throughout the state and represented some of the largest landowners in West Virginia. Speakers were brought in to discuss some of the crucial issues affecting land and mineral owners, including landowner liability, increases in coal and timber taxes, and ongoing legal and legislative issues surrounding the Marcellus Shale industry.
The West Virginia Land and Mineral Owners Association consists of 80 corporate and individual members who control more than 2 million acres.
