It was a 12-year-old's birthday party, shared with friends and games and presents.
But young Jonathan Burkhart of Barnesville told his friends to bring presents--not for him--but for the dogs and cats at the Belmont County Animal Shelter.
And they did.
Then Jonathan and his family delivered the items to the shelter, where officials were grateful.
Jonathan explained why he did it.
"I did it because, what would happen is, when kids would bring me presents, they would bring me things like PacMan stuff, and I'd tell them I liked it, but I never really played with it," he said. "But I knew I like the animals, so I just decided to ask for things I could bring to the animal shelter."
If you're impressed with the maturity of that 12-year-old, then consider this: Jonathan has been doing this for the past five years!
