Dr. Michelle M. Skinner has joined Harpers Ferry Family Medicine, part of University Healthcare Physicians.
Meanwhile, UHP also has hired two pediatricians, Dr. William Wear and Dr. Adarsh R. Kancharla.
Skinner is a graduate of Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, Calif. She recently completed her family medicine residency at Williamsport Family Medicine in Williamsport, Pa.
Wear is a board-certified pediatrician who has been practicing medicine in Martinsburg since 2001. He will practice at University Pediatric Associates, formerly known as Eastern Panhandle Pediatrics. The practice became part of UHP in July with the retirement of Dr. Edward Arnett.
A graduate of the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, Ala., Wear completed his pediatrics residency at St. Joseph Hospital Children's Health Center in Phoenix.
Kancharla — a graduate of N.T.R. University of Health Sciences in Andhra Pradesh, India — recently completed a pediatrics residency in Marshfield, Wis., at St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was the chief resident.
Skinner is now part of the medical staff at Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson while both Wear and Kancharla serve on the medical staff at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, JMC's sister facility, also part of University Healthcare.
All three will not only care for patients, but also will help to train resident physicians and medical students as assistant professors for West Virginia University School of Medicine Eastern Division.
UHP is a multi-specialty physician group that employs more than 60 healthcare providers in 20 medical practices in Berkeley and Jefferson counties.
