Wheeling Dog Park Association to Hold "Yappy Hour" Fundraiser
WHEELING, W.Va -
The Wheeling Dog Park Association held their first meeting Wednesday since winning $25,000 in a national contest from Petsafe.net to put towards building a dog park.
The group discussed how the money will be used, and how much more will need to be raised. The final cost depends on the location the group decides on. Jeremy Morris says fencing and flattening the land for the park would be the biggest expenses.
"We are still looking at the Elm Grove site, but there are some other sites we are considering," he says. "We hope to have all of that ironed out in the next few weeks. Then we can get to nailing down the site and costs, and be ready to build the park once the weather breaks in the spring."
The Wheeling Dog Park Association is holding a "Yappy Hour" fundraiser at Quaker Steak and Lube on Sunday September 8th from 4 to 7 p.m.
You can dine on the patio with your pooch, listen to live music, and support the Dog Park Association through raffles and prize baskets. At their first event, Quaker Steak also donated a portion of the proceeds from your meal to the cause.
