Hundreds Attend Mass for Slain WJU Student Kevin Figaniak
It was an emotional mass at Wheeling Jesuit University on Thursday evening as hundreds of friends paid tribute to a lost classmate.
All week long, masses at Wheeling Jesuit University have been dedicated to 21-year-old Kevin Figaniak, the senior business major who was killed in a brutal fight over the weekend. Hundreds of people were on hand for the Mass of the Holy Spirit held in the Troy Theatre on Thursday.
Kevin's funeral will be held Saturday in Hillstown, Pennsylvania. The university announced earlier that they will have buses departing that morning for students who wish to attend the funeral.
Meanwhile, police in Wheeling continue to search for at least one more suspect in the deadly assault. 22-year-old Craig Peacock of Florida and 24-year-old Jarrett Chandler of Louisiana are behind bars and charged with murder. An autopsy was performed on Figaniak's body Wednesday, but the results will not be available until sometime next week.
