Jennifer Woodall has been selected Transit Employee of the Year by the West Virginia Division of Public Transit.
Woodall, the assistant manager of Tri-State Transit Authority in Huntington, accepted the honor Aug. 1 during the annual meeting of the association at Glade Springs Resort.
Woodall was honored for her "renowned leadership, unwavering support and dedication to public transit in West Virginia." The award was made in recognition of her years of service at TTA and contributions to public transit throughout the state of West Virginia along with service on local, state and national boards and commissions.
During the same event, the West Virginia Division of Public Transit also presented its Excellence Awards, with Tri-State Transit Authority taking home four awards, including the Best Marketing Program for the ninth consecutive year.
Larry Joe Collins, a TTA Driver for 27 years was named the statewide Transit Driver of the Year.
According to TTA manager Paul Davis, Collins greets every customer who boards his bus with a smile and, for the regulars, some type of personal greeting.
TTA was also recognized for an increase in ridership. The award recognizes the growth in the number of boardings on TTA buses and dial-a-ride vans between calendar years 2012 and 2013.
