One person was killed and three others injured in a house explosion on Eldersville Road in the Hooverson Heights area early Friday morning.

Family friend C.J. Grishkevich confirms for 7 News the person killed was 13-year-old Hannah Mozingo.

According to Brooke County 911 dispatch, the explosion happened at 2481 Eldersville Road. Two people were transported by Weirton ambulance to Trinity West, while one person was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital. No word has been received on their conditions.

Some say that the explosion could be heard and felt for miles. People from Mingo Junction, to Marland Heights and Short Creek reported feeling the blast. One neighbor's home reportedly had the windows and front door blown off from the force of the explosion. The home was also said to have been knocked off its foundation. No one was in the neighboring home at the time of the blast.

The cause of the blast remains under investigation, however at a press conference Friday authorities suggested the incident was due to natural gas.

Donations can be directed to C.J. Grishkevich, a close friend of one of the victims. He can be reached at 304-374-0634, or at 2411 Eldersville Road, Follansbee, WV, 26037.
