Wheeling Jesuit Rallies For MEC Women's Golf Championship
Wheeling Jesuit overcame a 10-stroke deficit in the third round and edged Notre Dame College for the first Mountain East Conference championship at The Resort at Glade Springs.
The Cardinals shot a final round 327 for a total of 988. Notre Dame College finished five strokes back at 993, followed by West Virginia Wesleyan at 995. Charleston finished fourth (1,031), followed by Concord (1,034), West Liberty (1,082), Urbana (1,105), UVa-Wise (1,164) and Glenville State (1,192).
Wheeling Jesuit's Kasey Frazier earned medalist honors after carding a final round 77 to finish seven strokes ahead of WVWC's Becky Gossard. Kayla Linger and Michiko Smith tied for third at 236, and Steph Peareth was fifth with a score of 239.
