Ohio Valley resident Olivia Ault has won a contest that could help change her life forever.
Olivia suffers from a visual impairment that causes a miscommunication between what she sees and what her brain processes, but now, her impairment can be easier to deal with because she won a national contest in which Olivia and her family won a "Lily Lightaide Backpacking Program."
Lily Lightaide uses hundreds of LED lights that are used to stimulate the user to see. It teaches basic concepts such as cause and effect, taking turns and identifying/building patterns, visual tracking from left to right, and mathematical concepts such as basic counting skills, identifying numbers and building patterns with blocks.
Olivia was chosen among five families nationally to test the product, but because the won the votes online, she'll be able to have it for herself.
