One person was killed in an accident on I-70 in Belmont County on Thursday.
The accident occurred at about 8:15 a.m. Thursday on I-70 eastbound at Belmont Morristown Rd., mile marker 208. According to police, the accident occurred after a burst of snow hit the area, causing a total of four serious different accidents. When a tractor trailer pulling a large piece of farm equipment pulled over after one of the accidents, a car traveling behind that truck then hit the back and slid under it, killing the driver.
One lane of the interstate was shut down as crews responded. Traffic was backed up for miles near the accident scene.
