Program Director at Hancock County Domestic Violence Shelter Accused of Embezzlement
Hancock County, W.Va. -
Weirton police have arrested the program director for C.H.A.N.G.E Inc's Lighthouse Domestic Violence Shelter and the Domestic Violence Awareness Center in Hancock County, for allegedly embezzling a large sum of money.
According to Detective Gerard Spencer, Jamie Bernardi, 28, allegedly embezzled more than $10,000 from the nonprofit organization. Bernardi was taken into custody on Friday of last week.
Authorities said they believe she will appear in Hancock County magistrate court on Friday.
She is currently being held in the Northern Regional Jail on $10,000 bond.
