Two people were behind bars Friday morning after allegedly trying to steal from assisted living apartments in Wheeling.
Randolph Smith and Lauren Jenkins are charged with conspiracy to commit robbery after police say the two were caught stealing from the Booker T. Washington Apartments in downtown Wheeling.
They are both being held at the Northern Regional Jail. The two were arraigned by Magistrate Joe Roxby. Their bond is set at $10,000.
Just last week, police reported that a white man and a black woman forced their way through a woman's front door inside the Booker T. Washington Apartments. Police said the man ordered the resident to the floor while pointing a gun at her and then demanded money. The suspect also took cash from the victim's purse.
