UPDATE: Man Wanted on Robbery Charges in Connection to Wheeling Island Shooting Turns Himself In

Trayvon Montgomery is set to be in court April 21 in front of Ohio County Magistrate Harry Ratcliffe.

Montgomery was arraigned by Ratcliffe for first degree robbery on a $250 thousand cash only bond.  

He's being held in the Northern Regional Jail.



Wheeling Police confirmed Treyvon Markelle Montgomery turned himself in on Wednesday evening.


A man is wanted on first-degree robbery charges in connection with a shooting on Wheeling Island last week.

Wheeling Police are searching for 19-year-old Treyvon Markelle Montgomery, who is considered armed and dangerous. Markelle is six feet tall and weighs 150 pounds.

Wheeling Police responded to a report of a shooting on Wheeling Island on Friday afternoon.

The shooting occurred at 96 Maryland Street around 12:15 p.m.

"Assailants entered this gentleman's apartment unannounced and, at some point, a struggle ensued," Sgt. Gregg McKenzie said.

One person was transported to the hospital with a wound to the left side of his head.

Deputy Chief Marty Kimball explained that "he was alert and able to talk to us briefly."

 K-9 units were searching the area for multiple suspects. Officers continued to interview neighbors, some of whom told reporters that their neighborhood is taking a turn for the worse and this scene does not surprise them.
