Students at Wheeling Jesuit University have named Hines Rotriga, a 2-year-old Wheeling boy battling cancer as honorary team captain for the Augusta Levy Learning Center's seventh annual kickball tournament this weekend.
More than a dozen teams will battle for the championship title.
"We thought it was the right thing to do," said WJU student Patrick Maxwell. "We want to bring awareness to the ‘Hope for Hines' campaign in addition to helping our friends at the Augusta Levy Learning Center."
Maxwell said the team's name is "Viva Hines."
The tournament will take place at the Dimmeydale baseball fields in Wheeling on Saturday and starts at 8:30 a.m., and raises money to help children with autism.
