Road Construction Season Begins Across the Ohio Valley, $2.5 Million Invested in Projects

The Ohio Department of Transportation held its kick-off for the 2014 spring season on Thursday.

In a meeting held on in Jefferson County, state officials said a record $2.5 million will be invested in Ohio transportation projects, many in the Ohio Valley. ODOT's Deputy Director and other officials were on hand to answer questions and provide details about upcoming construction plans, and also focused on work zone safety.

"The goal is to save lives and to keep people safe, like workers on the road and your tow truck drivers," added Lt. Mark Glennon the New Philadelphia Post. Many of the projects, like one on Route 7 are still on-going, while others should start in the coming weeks.
