Dozens showed up Saturday for a chance to Kick It For the Kids as the Augusta Levy Learning Center held their annual charity adult kickball tournament at the Dimmeydale Baseball Fields.
The 7th annual tournament took adults back to their days at recess in hopes of raising money for Autism awareness month.
In the past, the tournament has seen snow, rain, and freezing temperatures so Saturday's sunshine was a welcomed companion to the fields in Dimmeydale.
The organizers at Augusta Levy chose kickball since you can't spell fundraiser without F. U. N.
"We like our fundraisers to be fun and this is a really fun activity that just about anybody can do," said Kathy Shapell, the Executive Director at Augusta Levy. "You know you learn it in school when you're a child and we thought this would be a great way to literally kick off Autism Awareness Month."
17 teams entered the tournament. Augusta Levy's next fundraiser will be their "Color Me Awesome" 5K Walk and Color Run, Saturday June 14th which will happen through the streets of downtown Wheeling.
