Storm Steps Down as John Marshall Basketball Coach
John Marshall High School is in search of a pair of basketball coaches.
Longtime boys coach Bill Storm has stepped down after 32 years as an assistant coach/head coach.
Storm started his career as an assistant coach in 1982 under head coach Digger O'Dell, and was a longtime assistant under Pancho Flores. Storm took over as the head coach eight years ago and had four winning seasons. He is the only coach to lead the JM boys to the state tournament in 2009. That team won a school-record 19 games.
Storm coached his squad to four consecutive OVAC championship games appearances from 2008 through 2011. The Monarchs lost in 2008 to Indian Creek, and Wheeling Park in the other three.
The John Marshall girls' basketball job is also vacant right now, after Mark McCormick stepped down last month to become the assistant athletic director.
