The Wheeling Park baseball team captured the school's third OVAC championship on Saturday afternoon with a 10-2 victory over the three-time, defending Class 5A champions from Edison.

The Patriots used a six-run fourth inning to open up a 7-1 lead. The inning was highlighted by Grove Calvert's first home run of the season, a two-run shot to left field of Wildcats starter, and reigning OVAC 5A Player of the Year, Nolan Marcus, who took the loss.

Wheeling Park's Matthew Brooks worked four innings to pick up the win. Michael Grove worked two scoreless innings, before Daniel Baciak moped up in the seventh.

In the other OVAC championship games, Madonna ended Bishop Donahue's run of three straight titles, with a 3-2 victory, and Caldwell won the school's first OVAC baseball championship with a 9-1 win over Shadyside.
