UPDATE: Taylor County Authorities Capture Escaped Inmate

Authorities have located and arrested inmate Rodney Hypes who escaped Saturday night.

He was found in Craigsville at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. They also arrested a woman from Grafton for assisting in the escape.

Charges against both are pending.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Authorities in Taylor County are looking for an inmate who has escaped from the Pruntytown Correctional Center.  

State police are asking people to be on the lookout for the man for Rodney Hypes, 30, who escaped between 7:30 and 9 p.m. Saturday night. He was last seen at a housing unit around 6:30 dressed in full khakis. Authorities believed he escaped shortly after.

He was sentenced out of Nicholas County for grand larceny and burglary.

Hypes has brown hair and brown eyes. He is about 5'10 and weighs 200 pounds.

Hypes has tattoos on his left arm (sleeve with gargoyles, faces, skulls, flames, clouds, tribal, and iron cross); left bicep (skull, faces, clock, "Hypes"); and abdomen ("Your Name"); right bicep (Grim Reaper); and right lower leg (dragon).

Pruntytown said Hypes could be armed and dangerous.
