UPDATE:

As of 8:30 p.m., AEP Ohio has restored power to all customers in Belmont County, who spent most of the day Thursday without it.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Much of the Ohio Valley spent Thursday morning recovering after a spring storm pushed through the area Wednesday night, bringing hail and lightning.

As of 3 p.m. Thursday, 2,137 Belmont County residents remained without power according to AEP. Restoration time is expected between 4 and 6 p.m.

Late Wednesday night, AEP at one point reported 5,183 customers without power in Belmont County, and 123 in Jefferson County. First Energy had 372 residents in the Wellsburg area in the dark, and a little over 100 in the New Martinsville area.

The line of storms that moved through around 6:20 p.m. brought hail and heavy downpours.
