Congressman Attends Belmont County Forum to Hear Residents' Concerns
On Wednesday, Ohio Congressman Bill Johnson held a forum in Belmont County for local government officials to come together to share ideas and to get information on ways to make improvements.
During the forum, attendees also shared ideas and voiced their concerns to the congressman. The visit is a welcomed one, but it isn't the first time Johnson has held the forum in Belmont County. Belmont County Commissioner Ginny Favede said, "This is actually the second one he's held here in Belmont County and we're grateful for his attention, because it helps our local governments, which strengthens the county."
The forum was an opportunity for area residents to see that the congressman is interested in issues facing his district. Infrastructure was one of the main topics discussed - as many towns in the county have a desperate need for road and waterway repairs. Without these forums, officials said they wouldn't know about all of the various programs that are available to them, and the congressman wouldn't know of the needs of his district.
