Wheeling Residents Named 2014 Good Samaritans

WHEELING - On Tuesday, two Wheeling residents were named by the Youth Services System Board of Directors as the as the 2014 "Good Samaritans."

James G. and Linda Bordas will be honored at the agency’s Good Samaritan tribute dinner on Thursday, August 7 at the White Palace, Wheeling Park. John Moses, YSS executive director, said,“Jim and Linda Bordas have been caring and generous neighbors in our community.

They are examples of the parable of the Good Samaritan. They have been important in the lives of many children in the community.

Linda Bordas has had a long association with YSS, and with other youth-serving organizations. Their law firm has stood up for families facing difficult circumstances. They support a wide range of community events and causes.”

The Good Samaritan honor began in 2008, with Sister Constance Dodd of the 18th Neighborhood Center being the first honoree. She was followed by Ron Mulholland (2009), the late Kathleen Hogan Schenk (2010), Dr. Bernard Grubler, Ann Thomas, and the late Dr. Lee Jones (2011), Ron Klug, Judge George Spillers, and the late Lary Loew (2012), and G. Randolph “Randy” Worls (2013).

Youth Services System’s Board of Directors selects the Good Samaritans and holds the Good Samaritan dinner to honor those selected. This year's dinner will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the White Palace Ballroom at Wheeling Park on Thursday, August 7.
