A ribbon cutting ceremony took place for the new Moundsville Pharmacy on Monday, a project that began in September of last year.
Construction of the new pharmacy, which is located just across the street from the previous location, took months of advanced planning and offers improved access, increased parking, two lanes of drive-thru service and modernized space. The pharmacy also offers medicine for pets, infants, and people that have trouble swallowing pills.
Also new at the pharmacy is an automated counting machine, which is much more accurate than when humans count the pills, allowing the pharmacist more free time to interact with their customers.
Pharmacy owner Jason Turner worked for several years to secure the new location along with the planning and design. He said he hopes the expansion shows the solid commitment they have to the community.
The Moundsville Pharmacy has served area residents for more than 30 years.
