The Wheeling Park High School baseball team saw its season end in heartbreaking fashion as the Riverside Warriors eliminated the Patriots 3-2 i the Class AAA state semifinals.
The Patriots held a 1-0 lead until the bottom the sixth inning, when the Warriors pushed two across to take the lead 2-1 heading to the seventh.
Wheeling Park's Nathan Hardman singled in Collin Hlad with the tying run with two outs to send it to the bottom of the seventh.
But after two outs, and no one one, the Warriors collected three straight hits off Wheeling Park starter Michael Grove to walk-off with a thrilling one-run victory and a spot in the Saturday's state championship game against Hurricane.
