Governor Tomblin Orders Flags Be Lowered In Honor of Bridgeport Grad, U.S. Soldier

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has ordered all U.S. and State flags displayed at all state facilities throughout West Virginia be lowered to half-staff on Monday, June 9 in honor and memory of Private First Class Garrett Craig Parker.
Parker is a 2011 graduate of BridgeportHigh School and listed in the US Army in 2013. He passed away on May 30 in a motorcycle accident.
He served on active duty as a member of the A Company, 1/15th Infantry Division at Fort Benning, Georgia. Parker was awarded the Army Physical Fitness Training Medal, the Infantry Cord, and the Expert Shooter Medal.
