Bridgeport Bank Robbery Suspect Waives Right to Preliminary Hearing

The man accused of robbing a Bridgeport bank last month waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday morning. The case will now be moved to the grand jury.

31-year-old James Richard Oberman was arrested following the Citizens Bank robbery in Bridgeport back on May 27. Police found him walking down the alley only four blocks from the bank.

Oberman is currently in the Belmont County Jail on a $100,000 bond and is charged with aggravated robbery and weapons under disability.

Oberman has a previous conviction for bank robbery out of Jefferson County.
