John Marshall High School Undergoing Major Renovations
GLEN DALE -
A massive renovation project at John Marshall High School is in full bloom, and you can see the progress if you just drive along Route 2 in Glen Dale.
Workers will be busy at the site all summer to get some of the phases ready for this fall.
One of the major changes is a new entrance, now that the old white bridge is torn down, and a more secure entrance will be put in. A brand new, covered connector will join the buildings on the north end and they're adding completely new windows throughout the entire school, along with a new cafeteria, science labs and bathrooms.
The school has been open since 1968 and assistant Principal Jason Marling said they're just trying to keep up with the times. The paving work all around the school is being done by Klug Brothers in Moundsville. In fact, all the work is being done by local contractors.
Students will see the changes when they return on August 18.
