WHEELING - A Wheeling Island man is facing charges on Monday after an attempted break-in into a vehicle that was impounded at a local towing company.

According to the Belmont County Sheriff's Office, Cory Rockhold, 33, was spotted by an employee at Bill's Towing in Bridgeport on Sunday afternoon leaning inside a car that had been impounded by police. The employee said Rockhold grabbed items out of the car and threw them into his own car. He then fled the scene. St. Clairsville Police and the Belmont County Sheriff's Department soon caught up with Rockhold on Main Street in St. Clairsville, where they discovered Rockhold's 18-month-old daughter in the car with him.

Rockhold is charged with criminal trespass, endangering children, possession of controlled substances, possession of marijuana, theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on bond.
