Ohio Valley Celebrates Independence Day with Many Activities
The Ohio Valley was filled with Fourth of July festivities Friday night.
It was a packed night at the waterfront as the Wheeling Symphony performed before the annual fireworks show. People began docking their boats early this afternoon to get the best seat in the house. Others grabbed their blankets and chairs and headed to the waterfront to check out the food vendors, listen to the symphony and just take in the beautiful evening on the river.
Dimmeydale held its annual Fourth of July parade and picnic Friday afternoon. It was a colorful celebration as people paraded through neighborhood streets decked out in red, white and blue. Kids, adults, family pets and even some ponies took part in the festivities.
The city of Steubenville also participated in this year's Fourth of July Festivities. The celebration kicked off at PrimeTime senior center with the annual luncheon. This year was even bigger and better thanks to a new senior citizen center and even more people in attendance. The Belleview pool opened their doors early at 11:00 a.m. for a free swim. Games, inflatables and food were brought out in the early afternoon to keep everyone entertained until the firework extravaganza at 9:30 p.m. at Belleview Park, the city's original celebration location.
