Police Say Steubenville Woman Hid Needles, Heroin in Bra
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -
A woman was behind bars on Tuesday after police allegedly found a bag containing heroin and drug instruments in her bra.
Early Tuesday, Steubenville police received a call about suspicious drug activity on in the 400 block of Dock Street.
When officers arrived, they found a man and woman inside a car and the woman was allegedly injecting heroin into her hand. The woman, Lauren Brokaw, denied having any drugs or drug instruments, but a search reportedly showed she was hiding a needle as well as a black pouch containing three hypodermic needles, two plastic bags of heroin, a red measuring spoon with residue on it and cotton swabs, all inside of her bra.
Jefferson County Deputies report they ended up finding two additional bags of heroin in her bra. Brokaw is charged with possession of drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegal conveyance of drugs into a detention facility.
The man in the car, David Skedel, was charged with permitting drug abuse.
