New CASE homes in Bluefield, WV are almost ready for move-in day
Several families in Mercer County are moving into brand new homes thanks to a grant from the State of West Virginia.
CASEWV, or Community Action of South Eastern West Virginia, organization in Bluefield is almost done building 10 new homes for less fortunate families to buy or rent. The $1.2 million for the project came from the West Virginia Housing Development Fund.
CASE officials said this project is not only helping the families that will live in the homes, but also everyone else who lives and works in Bluefield.
"This is a wonderful city; lots of good people here, lots of nice areas," said CASE Executive Director Oraetta Hubbard. "But the entrances to the city ... those areas don't look like that's what you're coming into so I hope this is a good example of what we can do."
The homes are located on Highland Avenue in Bluefield, WV. CASE officials said right now about 200 people are on the waiting list for new homes. An open house for the 10 homes will be Aug. 1, 2014.
