UPDATE: Weirton Police Officer Found to be Driving on Suspended License Will Face Judge

A Weirton police officer who was discovered to have been driving on a suspended license after an investigation into a crash in late July will face a judge in magistrate court within weeks.
According to reports, Patrolman Robert J. Ryan was involved in a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Weir Avenue and Cove Road, severely damaging the patrol vehicle.
During the course of the accident investigation it was discovered that Ryan was driving on a suspended license.
Ryan has been put on light duty while the investigation into the crash continues.
