A Wheeling resident has been charged with malicious wounding after allegedly stabbing a man near 17th and Jacob streets in Wheeling late Wednesday night.
The Wheeling Police Department said that around 10 p.m., two officers responded to 17th and Jacob after reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found a man who was bleeding from a wound near his groin. The laceration was about two inches long. The victim told police that a verbal altercation at a house on 18th Street led to the stabbing.
Police said the victim refused medical treatment. An investigation led to the arrest of Antwon Touvell, of Wheeling. Touvell is charged with malicious wounding and is being held in the Northern Regional Jail pending arraignment.
