Wheeling Man Accused of Leaving Daughter in Hot Car Set to Appear in Court
A man who allegedly left his daughter in a hot car on Wheeling Island while he slept on the couch inside his residence, is set to appear in court on Friday for a preliminary hearing.
Wheeling Police arrested Cory Rockhold after they reportedly found his 18-month-old daughter in his car on South Wabash Street on Wheeling Island last week. Police report they got the girl out of the car and said she was drenched in sweat. They also reportedly found marijuana, and cocaine in his car. Police say they found Rockhold inside his residence asleep on a couch, and when asked if he had a child, he allegedly responded, "No, I do not."
Rockhold is charged with one count of child neglect resulting in injury and one count of child neglect creating risk of injury.
