Jefferson County Awarded $9.2 Million for Roadway Repairs
One local county has been awarded millions to help repair their roadways.
On Sunday, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown announced that Jefferson County will be awarded $9.2 million by the U.S. Department of Transportation. The money is to repair damage to federal highways and roads after heavy rainfall caused a landslide back in March 2011.
The funds were awarded as part of Department of Transportation's Emergency Relief Program. The program covers permanent repairs needed to restore sites.
