STEUBENVILLLE - A man is facing multiple charges after police say he was walking around Steubenville intoxicated, attempting to shoot himself in the head.

On Thursday night, Steubenville police received a call about a man, later identified as Arthur Benjamin, allegedly drunk, carrying a handgun and making threats to harm a family member. Police say they found him walking through the parking lot of Pleasant Food Mart. As the officer exited the cruiser, Benjamin allegedly pulled out his handgun, put it up to his head and fired a shot - however, it missed his head and hit the side of Pleasant Food Mart.

Finally, police say Benjamin dropped his gun and was taken to Trinity West for evaluation. He's facing charges of carrying a concealed weapon, handling weapons while intoxicated, discharging a firearm within city limits, and domestic violence.
