Traffic was flowing freely again on Interstate 470 on Monday morning after a weekend accident tied up traffic for hours.
Around 8 a.m. Sunday morning, authorities started receiving calls that a semi had wrecked along I-470 in Ohio County and was leaking fuel. The driver was not injured but authorities had to shut down the interstate, filled with holiday travelers, in order to clean up the spilled fuel and tow away the wrecked truck.
It took two tow trucks to clear the wreck, one to take care of the cab while the other towed away the trailer. After about 2 1/2 hours, the wreck was cleared, the fueled was cleaned up and Interstate 470 was reopened around 11 a.m.
