U.S. Marshals Capture Alleged Sex Offender Hiding in Man Made Fort
Authorities arrested an alleged sex offender wanted in Brooke County Tuesday after locating the man in a man made fort in Pennsylvania.
U.S. Marshals, Washington County Sheriff's Office, Hanover Police Department, Smith Township and Weirton K-9 units all assisted in the arrest of 64 year-old David D. David of Florence, PA.
According to authorities, David was found in the woods located behind Tucker's Church on Steubenville Pike in Paris, PA.
David was wanted for sexual assault of a child due to an investigation by the Brooke County Sheriff's Office in West Virginia. He was staying in an RV in Follansbee when he allegedly sexually assaulted a three year old, authorities said.
U.S. Marshals said they received numerous tips, which lead them to David's location. Officers conducted a search of the wooded area and located David near a man made fort, which authorities said he had been staying in for approximately two weeks.
David was arrested without incident and taken to the Washington County Jail in Pennsylvania, where he will await extradition back to Brooke County.
