Sign repair has been completed and the Suspension Bridge in downtown Wheeling has been reopened.
Authorities closed the bridge Thursday in order to repair a sign that had been ripped down from a passing truck. Ironically the truck, which was not supposed to be traveling on the bridge, damaged a sign forbidding over-sized vehicles from traveling on the bridge.
The Wheeling Suspension Bridge has been closed in order to repair a sign that was ripped down by an over-sized truck, which specifically stated the truck was not allowed to be on the bridge.
According to Wheeling Police, the truck came across the suspension bridge and tore down the "No Over-sized Vehicles" sign as it passed.
Authorities said they did not have a time frame on how long the bridge will be closed.
