_____________

A case of shots fired at the McLure Hotel parking garage Sunday evening has police on the hunt for a man who let off a round of gunfire then vanished before police arrived on scene.

Wheeling Police Sergeant Gregg McKenzie said tips have been steadily coming in after airing a picture of the man who was caught on camera with a pistol in his hand.

Police quickly responded to the incident, which was just a full block away from the police station, but the pictured gunman slipped away just before officers arrived. His motive for firing the gun is still unclear.

"Responding officers got up there, checked the hotel, secured the hotel so nobody could come in or out, cleared the parking garage and then tried to obtain any information they could. Detectives that responded to the scene gathered some evidence and that's being sent down state to analyze it. When they cleared the scene last night, we still had no identification on who the subject may be or where he went once he came back inside the hotel from the parking garage," said McKenzie.

Police are still asking for your help in identifying the man in these images. The suspect is a white male, short brown hair, approximately 6'0, thin build. He was wearing a light gray baseball type shirt with ¾ length blue sleeves and blue jeans.

If you know anything about who he is or where he is, you're urged to contact police or you can call our Lauttamus Security Crimefighters Tipline at 1-800-223-0312. The evidence is being sent to the prosecutor's office to determine what kind of charges the alleged shooter may be facing.
