F.B.I. Asking Online Victims to Step Forward After Alleged Predator Arrested

Posted: Updated:

New warnings have been issued about online predators targeting teens throughout the country.

A man accused of coercing hundreds of underage girls to send him naked pictures is now behind bars, but the F.B.I. still needs your help.

Investigators say Lucas Chansler "sextorted" 350 teens across the country including girls in Kentucky and Ohio.

Investigators only know the identities of 100 victims and are now asking any potential victims to step forward.

Police are also asking you to have a conversation with your child about online dangers.

Here's some of the ways you can keep your kids safe:

- Make sure they're using their phones and tablets in a public space, not in their rooms.

- Get the passwords to all social media accounts and check them regularly.

- Report any suspicious activity to your local police department.
