An officer approached the car and at that time the male inside got out, without facing the officer, and started to walk away. The officer tried to speak with the man, but he then took off running between homes on Carmel Road heading toward National Road.
Several other officers responded to the scene and police combed the area and found 23-year-old Shawn Jacob Scott hiding near the porch of a home in the area. Scott refused to listen to police orders and took off running toward Lynwood, officers then tasered Scott and were able to take him into custody.
Before being taken to the Northern Regional Jail, Scott was examined by the Wheeling Fire Department. He is facing charges of identity theft, receiving stolen property, and fleeing. His bond had not been set as of early Tuesday morning.
